Happy 2009! :)
December 31, 2008
2009 is here!
Let’s keep this post simple.
Things/People/Issues I am letting go of:
- My need to be liked and my “unlovable” issues (hehe) –I can’t please everybody so I might as well please ME! haha
- Anger and frustration
- Crazymakers and emotional vampires (they probably know who they are hehe)
- Old clothes and underwear
- My bratiness
- 15 lbs worth of fat
- Overspending
- My simangot look
- Being a doormat (this year, my spine is more pronounced than ever)
- Being too sensitive a.k.a. PIKON! hehehe
- My laziness
- Last year’s morning pages (burned them before the fireworks started)
Now that I have let go of the old…I am bringing in the new (cliche haha):
- Love love love (haha you know who you are!)
- Travel spots to hit this year: Sagada, Vigan, Singapore, Boracay, Baguio, CDO and, hopefully, JAPAN!
- A spanking new fat-free bod! hahaha
- 10 framed paintings
- A new and more compact laptop I shall bring around with me wherever I go
- My own place hopefully by year-end
- P100,000 worth of savings
- More pineapple juice and chilled taho!
What I am most grateful for: my family, Zeph, true friends, red Starbucks planner, I am editor again, good italian food, and discovering the best leche flan EVER in Pampanga. Oh, and I am starting the year wealthy. Woohoot!
Merry merry christmas everyone! :)
December 24, 2008
Remember that post I wrote about not feeling the Christmas spirit? Scratch that! Haha
This Christmas has been a very happy one for me
My whole family is here, Zeph’s coming over tomorrow with lasagna prepared by his sister (hehe kilig), and I have a new baby cousin! Things are really doing great! I couldn’t be any happier and I’ve never felt so blessed
Everybody in my family is on their way to sleep. It’s just me and mina. Justin (her boyfriend) came over to salubong and they’re in the other room. So it’s just me here. I’m alone but I am happy. I can’t wait until the boyfriend calls to greet! Hehehehe
Thank you, God, for the blessings. And I hope wherever Tita Gina is right now, she is very very happy. Merry Christmas, Tita! We miss you
Have a meaningful Christmas everyone!
Happy birthday, Igor!
December 23, 2008

Have a spectacular spectacular birthday! Mwah!
This Christmas…
December 22, 2008

…I hope you find your bliss
May you suddenly find it in the most ridiculous/proper/weirdest/coldest/hottest of circumstances and in the most unexpected locations—under your office table, while stuck in an elevator (*ahem* leah, this one’s for you), inside long forgotten broom closets, while in line for coffee at the nearest Starbucks/Coffee Bean/Seattle’s Best/Your coffee house of choice, while working out (or pretending to) at the gym, in heated yoga rooms, while out for a walk after a tiring day at the office, after tripping over untied shoelaces at the mall, in enchanted kingdom, more than 20,000 feet up in the air (obviously, in an airplane), at home on a Saturday morning, etc etc etc.
Whatever, wherever, whenever. I just hope you find your bliss. Period.
Have a happy fuckin’ christmas!

Note: di ko kamay yan. Thanks a lot, Steffi. haha
The weather outside is…
December 16, 2008
…moody! hehehe
Today it was in a good mood. Jacket weather, my favorite.:)
I had a meeting with J at Rockwell this evening. It seems I am in for a busy December. But I don’t really mind because it’ll give me something to do over the holidays besides eat and be merry AND be sleepy. I’ve been quite lethargic lately. Things are moving at a snail’s pace at work and it has carried over to my personal life. I don’t really like it much…I feel drained but I am not really doing much at all. I don’t like that feeling. I know I have to be the one to take the initiative when it comes to actually becoming more physically active but that drive is…well, it hasn’t hit me yet. hehe must be the holiday spirit.
Speaking of the holiday spirit, I haven’t really felt it for a while now. I think the last time I felt excited about Christmas was when I was in grade school. Will I ever recover that excitement back? The one that comes with anticipating what’s in store for me this Christmas? That whole Santa’s on his way to bring me presents feeling…I think it went away with my childhood. And, well, I guess I just want to feel even a semblance of that excitement this year.
I think it’s a good thing we’re spending Christmas in Manila. Because it’ll be a first for my family. We usually spend it in Davao and I love that tradition but I think we all need to feel that change is really in the air. There is comfort in tradition but the time has to come when we need to break away from it. Make room for a new one. And I feel that for my family, that time is now.
In a way, I feel sad about it. But at the same time, I look forward to it. I am in for an interesting holiday season.
Lucky day
December 13, 2008
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). There are many interesting leads to check out. You put out your feelers and strike gold every time. Though there is much that remains to be seen, it’s safe to say that this really is your lucky day.
Yup, I think today just might be my lucky day. I came across an opportunity to edit a fashion catalog that my friend J is giving out during his fashion show this February and he asked me to be the editor-in-chief! Yeaheh. I love it! Another one for my portfolio! We’re meeting for dinner next week to discuss details. I can’t wait.
And things at work are really beginning to roll. This is the first time I’ve become really excited about matters relating to my CAREER! Haha that’s actually a breakthrough. LOL
And I have a date with Z tonight. He’s back from Bangkok after winning his fight. Woot!

First fight and I’m bored
December 12, 2008
It’s his first international fight in Bangkok tonight and I’m a bit sad I’m here and he’s all the way there.
I think distance really does something to you. It makes all the difference. I mean, it isn’t like we have no communication at all because we got to talk and text like usual. It doesn’t even feel like he’s out of the country because the time difference is, what, an hour? But the fact that he is in another country hundreds of miles away with a different currency and set of government officials and a culture that is so different from ours is what eats you away.
Hehe, OA noh?
Anyway, I am left with nothing to do here at the office. I came in early (read: 1:30pm) and I am alone so I am thinking of all these things that I would rather not be thinking about. I’m trying to distract myself from “noticing” the strong fumes coming from our freshly painted off-white walls. AND I have to pretend to be doing something because there are no blinds yet in our office and I don’t really want to sleep with all these people seeing me knocked out on my desk while they are on their way to their own desks probably about to do the same thing.
So here I am. I already dropped a couple of comments on my friends’ facebook pages, tried once again to install Yahoo Messenger in my computer but apparently the server is blocking it, and I just finished checking out the latest secrets in postsecret.
What to do next?
Oooh yey! My officemate’s here!
Sheep in the big city
December 8, 2008
I got lost going home from Intramuros early this evening. My sense of direction failed me yet again because I somehow ended up being on the other side of the road. As there aren’t a lot of pedestrian lanes for me to cross, I had to walk quite the distance to Manila City Hall because that was where I was supposed to ride an FX en route to Sucat.
I did not end up at the Manila City Hall. Instead, I found myself pretty much in the middle of Taft Avenue. And that was when the panic began. I have this hyperactive imagination. By the time I got to ride an FX headed to Buendia (I only found out it was passing Buendia when I heard the couple sitting behind me that we were apparently making a stop at Buendia), I had already concocted scenes depicting me being mugged in a dark corner in all my damsel-in-distress glory. That or having had the misfortune to ride an FX that was meant to be held up that very same night. Haaay.
Needless to say, my heart was pounding out of my chest by the time I reached Buendia. I love Buendia. It’s my new safe haven. Huhu I swear, why do I always get myself into these situations?
Just last week. It was my second day going to work and I decided to try my luck at commuting. I was up really late the previous night so I somehow ended up sleeping all the way to QUIAPO. I had to take a cab all the way back to Intramuros just to make it to the office on time.
Which was futile because my new office is pretty much FLEXIBLE when it comes to time. Hay.
Only in my world.
Anyway.
Tomorrow, I’m coming in after lunch. I love it.
Say Cheese!
December 3, 2008
The night after we laid my aunt to rest, the sky smiled. As in literally.
We had driven to Cavite that afternoon to visit Tita and it was a little past six in the evening when I looked up at the sky from the car. Voila. There it was.
A celestial trifecta of the crescent moon, Venus and Jupiter coming together to put a smile on the sky.
‘Twas just amazing. I think I’ll take it as a sign that wherever my aunt is now, she is happy.
And the first of December also means something to me. It celebrates the beginning of what is becoming a really really good thing. Hehe so it’s no surprise the sky is smiling!
And I am a magazine editor again. Woot!
